Sundowner is an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor. Sundowner is registered with Oregon and Washington and provides investment management services to individuals and companies in Bend, Oregon and throughout the Western United States.

Fee-only Investment Advisors

Fee-only investment advisors work solely for their clients and not for other investment firms, such as mutual funds, and are compensated only by a previously agreed upon fee by you, the client. Therefore, they have the ability to maintain a higher degree of objectivity in both their evaluation and recommendation when providing a course of action toward strategic financial objectives.

Fee-only investment advisors do not accept commissions or receive any other compensation for recommending specific products. Our primary objective is to promote our client’s financial well-being.

Sundowner Capital Management Founder

Doug Downer, founder and President of Sundowner Capital Management, has long been
intrigued by finance and how to make the financial futures brighter for others. With that in mind, Mr. Downer founded Sundowner Capital Management in his hometown of Bend, Oregon.

Prior to founding Sundowner, Mr. Downer worked for Waycross Investment Management in Bellingham, Washington for four years, providing investment advisory services to corporations, high net worth individuals, endowments, pension funds, and non-profit organizations. Previously, Mr. Downer was with Shearson Lehman Brothers, first training on Wall Street, then managing individual and corporate investment portfolios, providing asset allocation advice, trading strategies and diversifying portfolios through mutual funds. Prior to Shearson, Mr. Downer held banking and investment positions with First Interstate Bank in Seattle, Washington and U.S. Bank in Portland, Oregon.

Mr. Downer has served on several regional nonprofit boards and committees, including the Cascade Healthcare Community Board, St. Charles Medical Center Foundation, Cascade Healthcare Community Finance Committee, Greater Bend Rotary Board, and the Central Oregon Community College Foundation Board.

Mr. Downer is a graduate of the University of Portland with a Bachelor’s in Business
Administration. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific
University.

Sundowner Capital Management, LLC is an SEC registered investment adviser located in Bend Oregon. Sundowner Capital is in compliance with the current registration and notice filing requirements imposed upon SEC registered investment adviser by those state in which Sundowner Capital Maintains clients. Sundowner Capital may only transact business in those state in which it is registered / notice filed or qualifies for an exemption or exclusion from registration / notice filing requirements.
